Clustered peaks rise like sheaves of swords;

within the mountain settlement, a well of sky.

Heavy mists lock a thousand ridges;

along this road of arrival—who knows which way?

I hear that in former times, hardened bandits surged;

relying on the terrain, they brandished cruel whips.

At dusk—where is home?

I linger, listening to crows choke their cries.
